Issue Symptoms
‘/var/lib/amanda/staging’ must not be accessible to any group or user other than ‘amandabackup’
Issue Description
This error occurs when there is a permissions problem with the backup image staging area.
Resolution
To set the correct permissions on /var/lib/amanda/staging, log in as root and enter the following commands:
- chmod go-rwx /var/lib/amanda/staging
- chown amandabackup:disk /var/lib/amanda/staging
