Zmanda Certificate Regeneration for 5.1.x version

Overview

  • The certificates on the Zmanda 5.1.5 version are set to expire on a yearly basis. Once the certificates expire, the functioning of the server will be affected.
  • For Zmanda to function seamlessly, please ensure that the certificates are regenerated upon expiry.
  • The certificate regeneration can be done using the zmanda-cert-regen.sh utility.

What does the utility do?

  • Generates a new set of certificates required by Zmanda to function correctly.
  • Replaces the old certificates with the newly generated certificates.
  • Restarts the main Zmanda services:
    • run-zmanda-backup-server.service
    • run-zmanda-zmc.service

Steps to run the utility

  • Download the zmanda-cert-regen.sh script using the following command
    • wget https://cdn.zmanda.com/downloads/Utilities/5.1.5/zmanda-cert-regen.sh
  • Move the script in /var/lib/amanda
    • mv zmanda-cert-regen.sh /var/lib/amanda
  • Move into the /var/lib/amanda
  • Give the script executable permissions, using the command chmod +x zmanda-cert-regen.sh.
  • Run the script.
    • ./zmanda-cert-regen.sh
