There are a few ways that data can be recovered within M365. If you are looking to restore deleted files you can do so in OneDrive or from recovering the items from your Deleted Items folder. Previous versions of files can also be recovered if you right-click the file or folder and select the version you want to restore. Document Recovery and Microsoft 365 Backup may also be used to recover documents and data.

Depending on what Microsoft 365 application you are using, your data may be stored a bit differently. Some M365 applications store data in OneDrive or SharePoint, others use their own storage services.

O365 stores files in the cloud by default. Locally-installed versions of Office 365 can store files from networks and local computers.
