Features

How we benefit you?

01

Scheduling Backups

Zmanda intelligently schedules various levels of backups for DLEs within a backup set. Its internal algorithm balances the amount of data backed up across backup runs. This reduces the amount of data backed up in each backup run and keeps the backup window balanced across runs.

02

Meta Data servers/ Object Store servers Backup

Zmanda can back up meta data servers/OSS using the ext3fs dump program. Filesystem dumps can be used as the backup program. The dump command can be executed while the data is online. This requires a Zmanda client installed on the Lustre MDS/OSS.

03

Zmanda Backup Server Deployment

One or more Amanda backup servers can be used to perform a backup of filesystems as well as MDS/OSTs. The number of Amanda backup servers needed depends on the network bandwidth available for backup between backup servers and clients.

04

Restoration of Files/Directories in Lustre Filesystem

Zmanda maintains a catalog of files backed up and the web-based Zmanda Management Console (ZMC) makes it easy to restore files, directories, or entire filesystems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Infrastructure plays a critical role in ensuring Business Operations. Having a Disaster Recovery Plan acts as a failsafe, ensuring that if Infrastructure is affected due to any reasons like a natural disaster, power surge or even a Ransomware, your systems can be up and running in a moments notice. For a free disaster recovery consultation - please send out an email to sales@zmanda.com.

In the case of a natural or a human-induced IT Disaster, the objective shifts to getting the infrastructure up and running, quickly. Disaster Recovery is the process through which you reset your business capabilities to pre-disaster levels.

To recovery data on a server, you must have a backup file which you can use as the recovery media. The traditional process involves mounting the recovery media on the server file partition and running a script provided by your Disaster Recovery Software to help reset the server to pre-disaster conditions. Zmanda’s Disaster Management Solution automates this process to make this transition process seamless.
