Marketing Programs Manager

Location: Sunnyvale

The Marketing Programs Manager will be responsible for generating sales leads through the development and execution of integrated direct marketing programs utilizing a mix of email, Web/online marketing, webinars, calling and event-based campaigns. The Marketing Programs Manager will work with the inside sales team to understand lead generation requirements on a quarterly basis and develop a direct marketing plan, promotion calendar and campaign mix. Through those programs, you will both attract new Zmanda customers and deeply engage with existing customers.This position is critical to expanding demand generation pipeline and accelerating our sales and revenue growth. You will be accountable for lead targets, lead quality, conversion, program performance, and marketing spend.

This position is ideal for a hands-on individual and an innovative leader who can take projects from concept to implementation and has a proven track record of managing and delivering multiple successful lead generation campaigns to new prospects and internal databases. Responsibilities:

Overall demand generation planning & performance management including forecasting lead targets and implementing lead nurturing, conversion acceleration and ROI best practices throughout the customer purchase lifecycle.
Promotion calendar and campaign mix planning. Determine the right mix of campaign elements - direct email, email, webinars, newsletter sponsorships, telemarketing, direct response online banners, trade shows, etc. - with the most compelling and creative call-to-action.
Develop and implement direct marketing programs targeting new prospects in key segments and verticals to raise levels of customer acquisition and retention. Track and analyze campaign effectiveness
Drive a cross-functional team to leverage the infrastructure and processes required to successfully execute programs.
Work with Marketing, Sales and Operations to create new offers and content to support integrated campaigns
Deliver regular activity, ROI and performance reports, manage the tracking infrastructure for each program and summarize results with recommendations.

Qualifications:

BS/BA required.
4+ years in the business technology market and broad knowledge of IT systems, preferably for data protection and/or storage companies.
Solid understanding of SME customer behavior and mindset.
Familiarity with website analytics, Eloqua (or equivalent marketing automation tools), Sugar CRM or Salesforce.com (or equivalent), and tracking tools to assess campaign effectiveness.
Strong project management skills and experience, including managing external agencies, events vendors, and partner projects.
Passion for technology, creativity to think outside the box and leadership to execute effectively.
Sales experience a plus.

Inside Sales

Location: Sunnyvale

Zmanda is seeking an energetic Inside Salesperson with strong interpersonal and selling skills and a demonstrated track record of meeting sales and customer satisfaction targets.

Responsibilities:

Respond to and qualify inbound sales inquiries
Pro actively contact, pre-qualified high value sales prospects
Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections
Arrange and participate in conference calls between technical staff members and prospect decision makers to execute and facilitate the sales process
Update lead status and record prospect interaction in Zmanda CRM system
Manage a pipeline of business and identify milestones in the sales cycle
Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of Zmanda products and services, industry trends and competition
Exceed monthly and yearly pipeline, forecast and sales targets

Qualifications:

1-3 years experience in enterprise software solutions sales
Storage software experience highly preferred
Demonstrated history of consistent goal achievement

Technical Support Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, US

The Technical support engineer will be responsible for providing first and second level support to Zmanda customers. Candidates must have a passion to provide the best in class service to customers.

Responsibilities:

Answer Amanda backup software questions over phone, email, IM and forums.
Document Amanda solutions in the Knowledgebase.
Integrate and test various Amanda solutions to meet customer requirements.
Develop and Review training and tutorial content.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2+ years experience required in a customer support role.
Strong technical problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Open Source software required.
Team player.
Ability to balance customer requirements and company goals.
Experience with data protection products and practices strongly desired.
Be on call for customer problems after hours and weekend.
Ability to work in fast paced and dynamic work environment.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Equivalent.

User Interface Engineers (for Storage software)

Location: Pune, Sunnyvale.

We are looking for engineers who will develop graphical user interfaces for Zmanda products.

Responsibilities:

Design and Develop user interface web application.
Create user interface prototypes for getting user feedback.
Interface with the Server engineering team and user interface designers.
Create user interface help and documentation.

Qualifications:

At least 5 years of experience in developing user interface client and/or backend for Linux and Windows platform.
Must have developed software using PHP, Javascript, Ajax, HTML and CSS.
Should have experience in designing database table schemas and storing data in MySQL.
Good understanding of Apache web server configurations.
The engineer should have worked in all phases of software development life cycle, including requirements, specifications, development, testing and support.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming model is required.
Knowledge of storage management user interfaces is desirable.
Knowledge of open source software development tools is desirable.

QA/Test Development Engineers

Location: Pune, India.

Zmanda is looking for QA and Test development engineers for testing Zmanda products.

Responsibilities:

Develop test plans for various Zmanda software releases.
Develop automated test infrastructure based on open source tools.
Work with engineers in resolving the problems found during testing.
Perform integration testing of applications and devices with Zmanda software.

Requirements:

Should have at least 5 years of experience in QA and test development.
At least two years of experience in Perl, PHP, Linux test infrastructure tools especially TETware.
Knowledge of tape and disk storage installation and configuration would be required.
Familiarity with server virtualization tools such as Vmware and Xen.
Strong documentation skills and must be familiar with wiki tools.

MySQL Backup Engineers

Location: Pune, Sunnyvale.

Zmanda is looking for a MySQL database/administrator to work on the Zmanda applications product.

Responsibilities:

The engineer will be responsible for data protection solutions for MySQL and MySQL applications.
Interface with Core product engineers as well as open source community engineers to design and develop the applications product.
The candidate should understand various methods of database deployments and come up with product features that would meet customer requirements.
Work with Zmanda technical partners to integrate Zmanda products with their MySQL based solutions.

Requirements:

At least 3 years of experience in designing and developing products.
Should have experience with database configuration, administration and tools.
Experience with MySQL administration, configuration, applications is highly desired.
Should be familiar with open source projects. Candidates who have worked on open source projects would be preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Should have worked on one or more scripting languages such as Perl, Shell scripting.

Windows Engineers

Location: Pune.

The engineer will design and develop data protection storage products for Windows platform.

Responsibilities:

Design and Develop data protection client software for Windows platforms (Windows XP, Vista, 2003 server).
Integrate Zmanda products with Windows applications.
Develop configuration and communication interfaces with server running on Linux/Unix platform.
Work with support team to answer and resolve customer problems.

Qualifications:

At least 5 years of experience in designing and developing Windows products.
Experience with Windows Volume Shadow Services (VSS) API would be required.
Familiarity with Windows installation tools such as Installshield is desirable.
Knowledge of Microsoft exchange, SQL server would be required.
The engineer should have worked in all phases of software development life cycle, including requirements, specifications, development, testing and support.
Knowledge of open source software development tools is desirable.
Experience in Windows User Interface Development is desired.

Backup Software Engineers

Location: Sunnyvale or Anywhere in US.

Zmanda is looking for developers to work on our open source network backup and recovery products.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop modules in backup and recovery storage software.
Interact with open source community developers and users.
Work with Zmanda partners in integrating their product with our software.

Qualifications:

Three or more years of development experience
Experience with object oriented development(Perl, C).
Should have strong knowledge in one or more following areas: TCP/IP network programming, storage devices, multi-threaded programming, and large database development.
Should be familiar with open source development. Candidates who have worked on open source projects would be preferred.
Experience with Linux development tools and should be comfortable with Solaris and Mac OS X development environment.
Familiarity with PHP and Web services.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
